Tango Basics III - Pivots and Ochos

January 7 - February 25, 2018 (8 Sundays)  7:15 - 8:30 PM 

This 8-week series will focus on circular tango movements. The students will learn and practice the following concepts: 

  • Cross versus ocho – what’s the difference.
  • Forward and back crosses.
  • Forward and back ochos.
  • Generating spiral movement in your body.
  • Pivot and axis of pivot in ochos.
  • Difference between contra body movement and spiral. 
  • Leading Ochos, Following ochos.
  • Simultaneous ochos. Isolating Lead from Follow.
  • Opposition.
  • Ocho cortado.
  •  
    Prerequisites: knowledge of Argentine tango basics, ability to lead or follow tango walk in parallel and cross systems.
    Partner desirable, but not required. Registration required for the whole series. No walk-ins after the 2nd class. 

    Series Prices:

  • Register online before the 2nd class: $120 per person, $210 per couple.
  • Cash or check at the door:   $144 per person, $240 per couple
  • Walk-in (1st or 2nd class only): $18 per person, $30 per couple
  • 20% discount from above prices for full time students.
