Advanced Workshops with Simonida

Beautiful and elegant Simonida Cekovic-Vuletic of Boston, known for her expressive dancing and most graceful walk is offering two 1.5 hour tango workshops in Salem to dancers of advanced beginner and intermediate levels comfortable with tango walk, connection, embrace and basic figures.  
Having had previous training in balet, Simonida has intensely studied tango in Buenos Aires with a variety of notable teachers, developing her own unique 'signatuispari & Maria del Carmen (Villa Urquiza style). In her teaching and social dance, Simonida focuses on connection and expressive dancing in close embrace. She also emphasizes delicacies of feet placement, adornments, elegancre'. Workshop #1: Beauty of Walk, 3:00 - 4:30 PM
Create an enjoyable and attractive dance by using simple walking steps. While seemingly easy, walking in an embrace implies a continuous dialog through subtle body signals between partners. Sleek, elegant, and measured walking that reflects the musical phrases. How to play with the size of the step, switching weight, accelerating and slowing down. Technique, musicality, cadencia. Walking turns.

Workshop #2: Salon Tango Figures with Embellishments, 4:30 - 6:00 PM
Fancy moves and alluring adornments that are suitable for social dancing. Technique and combinations.

It is recommended that you have taken at least one tango basics course or a tango bootcamp and a familiar with basic consepts and techniques of Argentine Tango in order to fully benefit form the workshop.
